Durban Municipality
The Durban municipality has consistently had the highest level of irregular spending out of all the provinces. Has this municipality been captured ?
It would seem that Mr. Ramaphosa 3rd attempt at fixing the eThekwini municipality may not succeed.
IOL:- Action SA The party said rather than bringing in new people to work with the City’s leadership, the current leadership should rather be replaced.
IOL:- ActionSA councilor Alan Beesley said, “We do not believe the presidential team announced to address the issues within eThekwini will be effective. Rather than appointing a team, those currently tasked with running the City should be replaced with new people.
“This includes the mayor and his leadership who clearly don’t have the political will or competence to lead the City. The issues in eThekwini are deep-rooted and only a complete change in leadership will be able to fix these issues,” he said.
Auditor-General Tsakani Maluleke, PERPETUAL failure to respect the rule of law and a lack of disciplinary action against errant officials were among the reasons that led to KwaZulu-Natal incurring the country’s highest rate of irregular expenditure, at R9.75 billion, the auditor-general has found.
DURBAN – WEAK procurement systems were a major gateway for the rampant financial irregularities in this government, auditor-general Tsakani Maluleke said yesterday.
Abuse of power. Government officials ( In the Police ) use there position of authority for personnel gain.

Municipal Capture
Seventy-Five Billion Rand ($5 billion) It is the sort of looting and municipal theft that brings an African state to its knees. It is the sort of corruption that precipitates civil war and terrorism infiltration from neighboring countries. It is the sort of looting that creates great unemployment and dreadful fear and dread amongst the citizens without jobs as they turn against one another in violence, murder & frustration. A situation that is created when the municipal government steals money out of circulation leaving the people penniless and without jobs.
And it was not enough for the Durban African National Congress to steal the money. They also wanted blood. As we have seen in the insurrection of the poor and underprivilege people they rose up in desperation to find anything of value. And the Durban Africa National Congress made available the guns, ammunition and kept the police off the streets that encouraged the killing of 3 or 4 hundred citizens gunned down to send a message to the people of KZN that they are ready to kill to protect their ill-gotten gain.
The business of revenue collection, electricity, water, roads, and land planning should be privatised.
Read the latest 2021 finace report from the AG. The Auditor General tells us R4.5 billion rand ($310 million) has been written off out of our municipality accounts ending 2021. The money has just disappeared? The municipal auditors said they do not know what has happened to the money ???
THAT - WAS - JUST - FOR - ONE - YEAR !
Did you know the Durban municipality / local government produces more
millionaires than the private sector?
Change the Durban Municipal leadership.
Durban has all the natural resources a beautiful international holiday destination requires. In order to develop our province we need a good municipal government in place. Over the last 27 years irregular spending has risen to R60 billion Rand. The State president Cyril Ramaphosa says TAKE THEM OUT. VOTE THEM OUT.
Read what the Auditor General South Africa says about our Durban municipal government. Over the last few years R54 Billion ($3.9 Billion USD) rand has gone missing / waisted in irregular money management.
This happens every year. The money that is supposed to go into our province is being misused, stolen by some of the senior staff, supervisors, managers, councillors, finance staff and mayor. THEY ARE TAKING AWAY OUR JOBS AND THE HIGH LEVEL OF CORRUPTION DISCOURAGES INVESTMENT. This is why there are so few job opportunities and business struggles to find work.
Change this municipality or our province of KZN will never have a bright and beautiful future.
Do not be cowed. We will not be bullied by this municipality. Stand up and be counted. VOTE for change in 2024. John Venediger.
